Shortly after delivery the engine began to lose large amounts of coolant. It was not clear where this was going.
Eventually the problem was traced to chafe. This hose rubbed against sharp edged GRP where a hole had been cut to route hoses through to the calorifier. The hose was not sufficiently protected and as the V cut deepened coolant loss accelerated.

Modifications:
Chafe protection fitted to electrical cables and hoses where necessary. August 2005
Speedseal fitted to cooling water pump April 2006.
Starter motor and alternator overhauled September 2009.

Coolant loss August 2005.
Electrical connection to alternator May 2006.
Shaft coupling failure June 2006.
Exhaust elbow failure April 2009.
Shaft coupling failure December 2010.
